Discord Tutorial

This tutorial is built for the York County Pokemon Go Discord server. Those of you unfamiliar with Discord may find some of these tips, tricks and tutorials helpful in your Discord experience. Please let your admins know if you need to know how to use Discord in any manner! We are here to help.

Basic Usage

Mute Channels

Setting Team

Once you are into the Discord, please go to the # General chat. Then in the chat, type one of the commands to be assigned to your team.

  • $team valor
  • $team mystic
  • $team instinct

    • You will be assigned to your appropriate team channel at that point at the bottom of the server.

Raiding

There are multiple raid chats for each one of the areas. Please post the raid in the respective area to avoid confusion. You can post a screenshot, text, name, time, etc. to inform the community of the ongoing/upcoming raid. Any details help players to know where a raid is at, and how many people are there to help. To know how many players you will need for a particular raid, please keep in mind the tier of the raid, your team, level, and the amount of players with you. Refer to the Raid Boss link under resources for the minimum number of players required for a particular raid boss.

EX Raid Report

If you receive an EX Raid pass, please post it in the # exraid-reporting channel. In order to report an EX raid, post the screenshot.

For the Community

Report any rare or requested quests here, including, but not limited to: Silver Pinap quests, Spinda quests, Chansey quests.
Linked to Pogo Maps, this is used for push notifications for raids and quests. All quests and raids are user reported, and are automatically pushed to the discord when they are posted.
Reporting of rare/new rocket stops in the surrounding area
Report any rare or powerful Pokemon you find in the wild! These can include rare Pokemon like Ditto or Chansey, or something like a 2nd or 3rd evolution. Also can include high CP/IV Pokemon.
Our bi weekly nest update! We usually have the nests posted a few hours after the migration (usually every Wednesday at 8 PM EST).
Add your code here to add friends, or coordinate a level up with a friend here. Post if you are a regular gifter, or prefer just to open. And of course, make new friends!
Post what you need for trade. Preferably, also post what you have to offer for trade. Make sure you have decided what you do and don't want to trade for what you need. Please keep in mind the stardust cost, and exchange friend codes if needed.
Battle time! If you are ultra friends, you can battle from a distance. If you're not, you can plan a time and place to meet up and battle. Remember, you get rewards, even if you lose! So get out those Pokemon and battle!
Current tournament going on or being planned. This is for local tournaments going on between community members.

Just for fun

BRAGGING RIGHTS! Please be humble about it. Show off your favorite catch of the day! Whether it be your favorite Pokemon, a high CP, a shiny, etc., show it off for everyone to see!
A channel for everyone to post Pokemon in order of CP. Check the latest CP and see if you have the next number! If you do, screenshot it and post it in the channel!
Show off your AR photos! We'd love to see different locations where you catch and play! Show off those special Pokemon with a cool AR Photo! And of course, feel free to add it to the AR collection here on the website!
We have multiple bots in this channel! Each of the commands are different, so feel free to ask around and use the help commands to see how to interact with the bots for fun. Play the slots, fish, buy a pet, catch a Pokemon, and more!

Upcoming community day! Post any information you may have regarding the upcoming Pokemon, moveset, or bonus for the given day. Also feel free to post any places you might be going, and where trainers and meeting to enjoy community day together!
